A teacher-led presentation on Alternative Health and Complementary Lesson which could be delivered prior to students embarking on independent activities (these would have to be created). Originally aimed at Access to HE but could be tailored to suit a range of courses. Students should be able to describe and evaluate various aspects of Alternative Health Care by the end of the session.

Presentation crammed with icebreakers, team building activities, and activities to introduce students to concepts such as E&;D, employability, policies etc. Some activities designed to enable students to find their way around buildings etc. Therefore, you will need to design a simple clue sheet about your organisation. Can be adapted to meet your organisations needs. This was taught over a full day but can be divided up across tutorial/form tutor time etc.

Designed as part of an Adult Employability Skills course. This session was designed to provide students with an awareness of discrimination, equality and equal opportunities to empower them with knowledge of their rights. This resource would benefit from a powerpoint presentation which could be based on the information in the worksheet. There are student activities throughout which will be suitable for an array of learners.

Bingo game to encourage students to communicate and get to know each other. Basic template with statements which can be adjusted to fit the group. Students could write some sentences about the students they met as a follow up activity.

Colourful PowerPoint with discussion prompts, video clips to enable students to learn what bullying is and what to do in the event of bullying.

PowerPoint with some teacher prompts based on recent research and full of student activities. Students can be fairly self-sufficient during this session. This was originally written for Access to HE but will also be useful for A-Level. A whole lesson, including interactive activities designed with Autonomous learning and British Values in mind. Activities and content of slides have been written to evoke interesting discussion in terms of what makes us so diverse and why we should be respectful of this.

This lesson was delivered as part of a 1 hour tutorial designed to provide students with a taster of what employability skills, what are employers looking for and to encourage them to start considering what skills they already have. Features teacher prompts and student centred activities. You will need a classroom with computers and internet access for this lesson. Might work well at the start of the year for a taster of what skills students should expect to develop on whatever courses they are studying. Can be made subject specific.

An array of handouts and activities designed to make adult learners consider conflict management with an employability focus. Learners will work with the Four-Step Process of Conflict Management. Could be adapted for staff training.

Research activities and case study to prepare students for assignment on Anti-Discriminatory Practice. A handout and array of group activities aimed at apprentices/adults on Assertiveness. There are an array of group activities/reflections task with employment based scenarios. May benefit from a PowerPoint to accompany. Could be delivered over several sessions.

This tutorial which could be delivered over two sessions has been designed with very little teacher input. I originally designed this for a group of personal tutors who had never delivered this topic and were concerned about whether their knowledge was up to date. This puts the onus on the students and is research based. It has been designed in such a way that students should stay on topic and address the tutorial in a sensible manner if groups are planned ahead of time by the teacher delivering the sessions. Smaller groups will work best. Lesson Objectives: Investigate a range of sexual health related topics and produce a 5 minute presentation Present information about a sexual health topic Identify sexual health services

These worksheets provide students with detailed guidance about how to write effective speculative and cover letters in order to secure future employment. There are activities incorporated into these worksheets designed to get students to consider their skills and attributes, supporting them in producing unique employment letters to impress prospective organisations.

Written for new BTEC Specification, Level 3, Unit 2, Equality and Diversity in Health and Social Care. Full 2.5 hour lesson which is mapped to part of the assignment with student activities throughout which include scenarios, group research tasks, case studies. Minimal teacher input required.
